Thread: BB 9981 blinking red light

I have a serious issue to resolve. My BB 9981 died and I have now a blinking red ligh and a black screen.

After looking over several tips, I guess I have done several mistakes and now I would like to have your attention and help.

My OS was not updated for long time, and one day the phone died. I looked into some forums and I thought that maybe the issue was from the OS and using CFP I have deleted the previous OS and tried to install new one.

Here comes the tricky part, first I have no full knowledge of using this CFP and worst, Im not sure that those OS files that I got in the net are the proper OS for my model.
Neither less, I have fight and tried about everything, desktop manager, fast installer, hybrid tools, jl_cmder, BBmaster controller, BBSAK, /noJVM, I already lost counting and ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY!
Even with /nojvm, it fails in this point... using both bbLoader or desktop manager

-In some software I have the info that device is not connected
-In others that device has no proper OS
-Also that "failed to preform initialization"
-Or even ""ABORT message"

Once again, Im guessing that besides the red blinking problem, it looks like that the system is always rebooting itself, and there is no image in the display, except sometimes I have the battery symbol with or without red X.

How can I do something in the phone if I cant make it stop rebooting or reconnecting to laptop?

Most likely you have improperly used the CFP tool with your device. I would suggest you try reloading the base image using the CFP tool again. Your device has no OS on it now and needs it reloaded.

But I have already tried to install OS and the only thing that changes is the sequence for the red light blinking.
And even when i access desktop manager to update this OS its gives me error.

Maybe the OS that I have to install its not the proper one. I have 2 files, one UMTS.sfi and another FlashImage.sfi.

Do you know where can I get the proper OS files to upload with CFP?

Does anyone reads this threads?
Does anyone has knowledge to share and help?
