Thread: BlackBerry Bold 9700 Bluetooth not connecting

Greetings,

I dropped my Blackberry in water yesterday, retrieved it and as soon as possible(45 min) put in a baggy full of rice. After approx. 11 hours later took it out and put everything back together. Everything works except my Bluetooth will not turn on so devices sync with it. I noticed my camera still had moisture on the lens inside so I put it back in the baggy with rice and sat that in the sun, hoping to dry everything out. What are the chances of getting my Bluetooth to work again and is there a way to fix this?

Your Bluetooth could have shorted out. You are lucky that you got the phone to work. 45 min is a long time in water.

The only way to fix the bluetooth is to bring it to a tech to install a new component.

ok thank you...i retrieve it immediately from the water, it just took me 45min to get to some rice....can you help me find a tech in my area...my zip code is 32254, Jax., Fl area.

you could try contacting your phone carrier and see if they have a service center or anything like that i suppose. Other than that you could try to find a used board from an old phone that matches your model if that's the route you wish to take. hope that helps some!

Man! Sorry to hear about your BlackBerry. My worst fear is dropping my precious and dropping it in water would give me a nervous breakdown! Joe is dead on about checking around town for a 3rd party service center.

If you happen to be with Sprint, I'll be more than happy to give you a used, but really nice Bold 9650 with an Otterbox case and extra battery that a good friend had once given to me (pay it forward!). All you'll have to do is drive down here to Gainesville and pick it up....after you buy me a cup of coffee and talk BlackBerry.
