Once you removed the BlackBerry Desktop software did you reboot?

yes, I did. I've loaded a number of times and then removed and rebooted each time. The file shows to be in my system, but it wont' show in my list of programs, nor does it even put a desktop shortcut on my screen.

What version of Windows do you have? Are you an administrator?

windows 7 and yes, i am the administrator. tks

did you uninstall any previous version of blackberry os software installs before starting the 7.1 install?

yes,,, a number of times. I wiped the system clean. once i downloaded again, it shows that the file is sitting in my system on the Control Panel Uninstall page, but it won't show in my shortcuts on the desktop nor does it show in my program files. tks
