Thread: Bold 9900 keeps rebooting

My blackberry bold 9900 keeps rebooting itself all the time! It is very frustrating

Hello sammy, what exact OS version are you running? Go to Options... Device... About Device Versions... and read me the 3rd line down.

I imagine that a OS update will probably take care of the issue.

Ok, so you are running OS 7.1. I should have asked before, but who is your carrier?

You may have a update you do via OTA on your device. Go to Options... Device... Software Updates... and see if it says you have a new update. If it says yes, don't update yet. First backup your device using Desktop Software. Then make sure your device is plugged in and go ahead with the update.

If there is no update, let me know and I'll find the latest version for your device you can manually update via your computer.

It says - Your Blackberry is up to date

Then you will have to manually update your device using another carrier's OS for your 9900. Here is the latest version for your device... ClaroRepublicaDomincana_9900_7.1.0.569 - Downloads - BlackBerryOS.com

Once you download the OS, you will have to install it on your computer. Be sure to backup your device before updating. You will need to delete the vendor.xml files before your device will recognize the OS through Desktop Software. See here for how to do that... How To search for & delete your vendor.xml file.

Okay so I updated the OS but it hasn't fixed the problem, the phone continues to reboot on its own!

So the next step we take is looking at the hardware as the possible problem.

How old is your battery? Maybe try a different battery for a day to see if it still happens.

I have the same issue, did everything you said and still nothing, the battery is not the problem, idk if this makes it any different but my blackberry is a bold 9900, 7.1 bundle 1716. when i restart it once it blacks out or dims, or fades it wont do anything no matter which buttons i press, i have ro take the battery off and put it in again and wait for the phone to load for it to work again.

Have you removed all your third party apps and installed 1 app at a time?

One app at a time meaning basically installing one app. Then see if you have any problems. If you dont, then install another app. If you do have a problem, then it could be the app. You could contact the developer(you might be able to find it within the app, or from BlackBerry World) and inform them if that is the case.

it says its up to date. now it just wont start up and does not get recognize by the pc, i want to try to wipe it, but idk how if the pc wont recognize it. any help?
