Thread: JVM errors

Hey all, this morning I woke up and found my bb with a jvm error 117, what does that mean??? Iv gotten a jvm error before a few weeks ago, it was 5.. Don't remember other two digits sorry, anyway is the error 117 anything to worry about???

Have you installed any new programs lately? If so I would start with removing the last program that you loaded, perform a battery pull and see if the error message still comes up. If it does then you may have a deeper software issue that may require and reload of your OS. Report back and if needed we can help you with a reload of your OS.

Hello troy10, and good morning.

JVM Errors are raised by the BlackBerry Device Software during various activities to make the BlackBerry smartphone user aware of a failure in which the BlackBerry smartphone could not safely recover normal operation.

I have searched everywhere for JVM error 117, and I feel that you may have posted an incorrect error number, either way, the error you experience is caused by a software issue.

A simple device (soft) re-boot should solve it most of the time, this can be done by pressing Alt+Shift+del.

In case the issue persists, the best solution would be to upgrade the BlackBerry device OS.

Thanks guys, I'm pretty sure it was 117, I rebooted and everything and havnt gotten it again, but 2 days ago after pausing while streaming a video online, I left my phone and when I came back to it there was an 'app error 200' and prompted me to reset, its been fine since

Glad to see it worked it self out. You still may want to consider a reload of your OS and a backup.
