Thread: Just won't restart

After charging the battery for 24 hours the phone came on and worked fine. Until....I powered off and the phone would not come back on again. This is a new battery. I have to remove the battery each time and re-insert. Then the Bold 9000 re-boots and works. What is going on?

A brand new BlackBerry battery does not require a charge for 24 hours, at the most, on average 2 hours.

As a matter of fact, charging a battery for longer than their recommended charge will actually damage the battery (if using a non OEM BlackBerry charger).

Sounds like the battery might possibly be damaged.

Try exchanging the battery if possible, and let us know the outcome.
