how to enable wireless sync with Gmail

can anyone assist me on how to enable wireless syncronization with my Gmail contacts? ive been searching few setting in my bold 9900 to make it wireless sync but not working until now. yesterday i managed to sync my BB contacts to Gmail using google sync. but it just one way sync without wireless syncronization. im afraid to sync gmail to bb as it prompted during email setup pop up if the contacts in gmail (without personalization photo) will replace all my custom contacts in my bold. Pls help me. TQ

Delete your gmail, readd it and let it sync. Your contacts will not be replaced, though Google might create duplicates, just use the find/merge contacts feature in Gmail to combine all your contacts if Gmail duplicates them, then it will sync the changes to your BB.

ok. for example when i click find/merge duplicates in Gmail, it says we have found 31 duplicates contacts. so if i click merge..what will happen? means that if i proceed merging..the original bb contacts in d phone will not affected? some of the contacts i linked to Facebook with pictures also doesnt affect? im confuse n a bit scared to sync as if gmail contacts will replaced all my custom bb contacts. kindly help me ya. thx

Custom information, such as links to Facebook, BBM, etc, will not be affected. Any info that is merged will sync to the bb, but will not change info that does not sync, such as links. Contact pics will sync, if the pics are different in Gmail than on your BB, it won't matter, since your BB will change them to your default, ie, Facebook, BBM. Then the pics will sync to Gmail, making all your contacts the same on your BB and in Gmail.
