    Dead Battery

    Dear Madam, Dear Sir,

    The battery of my new PlayBook is dead.

    Yesterday I worked with it for about 1 hour, I checked the battery level and it was 74%. Then put it in Stand By mode and started doing some other work at my office. After some 1 hour I returned to my PlayBook and noticed that the LED is blinking RED twice every few seconds and the PlayBook does not show any response.

    I tried to charge it with the charger provided with the PlayBook but no effect. I tried to switch off the PlayBook through keeping the on/off button for 10 seconds and the LED stopped blinking. Again I tired to switch it on by pressing the on/off button and again the LED started blinking RED twice every few seconds.

    Please help how I should proceed.

    Hello Behrouz,

    If you keep it plugged in to the charger will it power on? If not it may be time to check your warranty? Do you know what OS version you have?

    Reply: I have plugged it in for more than 16 hours and again the double blinking of red LED is going on. I do not know which OS I have but I bout it on Nov. 15, 2011 (just last week) from Costco, so it must be very new one.

    What Im asking you is if you can power on the device while its plugged in. I would just send it back warranty should have you covered.

    I agree with ice2921. Unless there is some exception with the Playbook, Costco typically offers a two year warranty on their electronics, computers etc. But you shouldn't even need to go back on the warranty as you've not yet had the product two weeks, let alone the typical 30-days allowed for returns/exchanges. Either way, take it back to the store and I am sure they will replace it for you without any issues as I've never had a bad experience with them when it comes to exchanging items
