Thread: Upgrading problem

I am trying to upgrade my curve 8520 os from 4.6.1.314 to vodafone de 5.0.0.1036 which I have downloaded from blackberrya.com. But when I started to upgrade with dm 5 it gives me message like that only valude subscriver can update.I have tried it with deletin the vendor.html file from c:/pro./comm f/research/app loader but ican,t.please help me

Which step(s) do you have problems with?
The more information you can give us, the better we can help you.

The guide should work, so I recommend going through it step by step, and if you receive an error or get confused, write down what you see, what was the last thing you did, stuff like that.

Is it Permanent to wiping device memory first.if it is then what can I do if I can,t load the new os?can I go back my previous os with back-up file?

Just remember to back up your device before you upgrade.

You can skip the step of wiping the device if you don't wanna do it.You can update directly from OS 4.6 to OS 5 but don't forget to delete the vendor file.Just follow the steps in the guide except the step of wiping.

When I started updating it shows os 5 in dm.but there was a star mark which notes below that "only active bb subcribers are entitled to install this device software upgrade" and after cliking the next button it shows "to enjoy the latest functionality from bb device software upgrate,u will need an actictive bb service subscripton. It commanded click next to update the following application but there was no nex button.there is my problem.

I suggest using the Loader as shown in the guide.
