Thread: 9700 OS6 force usb mode

Hi guys, I hope this isn't answered somewhere else, I checked, but couldn't find anything.

Anyways, as posted, I have a 9700 with 6.0.0.418.

Everything worked fine on OS5, but now when I plug it into USB in my truck, it doesn't give me the pop up option to select USB mode.

Everywhere else (imac, pc, xbox etc) I get the dialogue box so I can choose that.

Is there any way to force USB mode on so that my truck sees it as a device? All it does is charge my phone right now.

Are you trying to plug it into a USB slot on your truck's music player? If so, many players will not recognize certain devices. Your best best to play music/audio to your cd player is via aux cable.

Yes I am trying to use the USB in my truck.

Thing is that OS5 worked thru USB.......

You will only get that pop up if you are plugging it into a source where it can be used as an external storage device. Ie.. Computer, Xbox, PS3... Any device that can use the phone as another storage device, will give you that option. If you are just simply plugging it in to charge or play music, the source you're plugging it in to has to have the ability to use the phone in more ways than one. If that makes any sense?? =)

Hey glock, been awhile. I'm guessing your using a leaked OS6? If so, the cod's aren't there yet for the truck usb...hense it working on OS 5 and not 6. My suggestion would be to wait for the official OS 6. If that's not an option, you'll have to go back to OS 5

Yah its a leaked os6. That makes sense that the COD's aren't there yet.

I was hoping someone might have found a way to force usb mode on.....

Oh well, I will have to wait!

Why wait? There is at least 1 official 9700 os out and about.
