Thread: Help for my Bold 9700 ~ Alarm/message issue

Hello. I have Bold 9700, great device. But i seem to can not find settings for my problem.

When i have alarm ON, and its for example a song notification.....as soon as some other notification arrives(like bbMsngr or email or SMS), alarm sound(in my case a song) stops.
If you get me,when i sleep i turn BB off, then in morning alarm goes ON, and turns phone on, But as soon as phone is on, any notification arrives and stops alarm sound. SO i simple beep stops my whole alarm sound and i cant wake up.

Is there a solution to prevent any notification to stop alarm sound other then turning all radio OFF??

I'm sorry...I own a storm2, and so I am not up to snuff on Bold issues. On my Storm2 I have a "bedside" mode. I don't turn my phone OFF...I disable LED, I do not disable radio, I dim screen, and I turn the Sound profile to silent. When my alarm goes off...nothing bu the alarm sound happens until I turn it off and when I exit bedside mode, all my messages are there.

Now since none of this may pertain to your Bold, I have put in a Help Request to other staff members, to see if others may have a definitive answer to your question.

I also changed the title to your thread, so more members would be able to tell what your question is and increase the chances of you getting a quick answer. Hope this helps...

Also, i played with settings last day and i realised, that even if i put Phone calls ONLY profile, when alarm is due to start(if phone is off), accesibility sound-event sounds will stop alarm in 1st second. Accesibility sound-event sounds are when you turn BB on or off, plug in charger...small beeps usually....

So any chance to prevent somehow all those sounds to stop alarm sound?

Suggestion...don't turn your phone off. Choose option of Profiles to Silent. Plug your BB into charge, and see what that does. Don't turn BB off. Let me know how that works...Profiles to Silent, plug into charge, leave phone ON. See if Alarm functions properly then. Good Luck...

Hello friend. I investifated more, and i realised that ONLY WAY to have alarm NOT INTERUPTED by any type of notification is to put silent profile, that way alarm goes all the way. I also discovered that if put to phone calls only or any other normal profile, EVENT SOUNDS ON setting makes alarm stop upon turning Phone ON.

I hope you understood, so only way to have event sounds(i like to have then ON) not interrupting alarm is to put SIENT PROFILE. that way NOTHING will beep or make sound except alarm....


My question is how is possible they didnt see this conflict.....Like if you go to sleep and you Must have phone calls only ON, and alarm goes on but right after, missed call comes and stops alarm....so only way to be 100% sure to be always waken up by alarm is to put SILENT MODE. no other way...

I am correct my friend?
