Thread: PTT Help

Does anyone know anything about the Verizon PTT. I just installed it on my Tour and called VZW and they added it on for Free. I have zero clue how to use it. I know the concept. I cant/ dont know where to look for my PTT # or anything. Can some help shed some light onto this ??

Firt you will need to go to the "application Center and find ptt and actually download it to your tour. After download, you will need to Go to your options icon and find "ptt options". your only option will be to "enable or disable". You'll enable it of course. Once you do that, press the left soft key on tour and you will see the ptt menu populate and direct you with the option to "add a PTT contact...Ptt#s are the cell #s. In order for you to add someone's ptt, they'll need to have ptt on their account and downloaded as well. If you need help, Holla back...

Thanks that helped alot, Now i just realized all of my friends have diff BB w/o PTT so it seems like a waste now. I didnt even get to try it

But it should work with anyone with a ptt, not just vz. If you don't know anyone on ptt, let me know and i'll pm my pin number to you

I dont know anyone on Ptt

Its a useless app I think. By the time you get the screen up and then PTT them you can just call them and put it on speakerphone. Plus your Tour will heat up a lot!!

I just said to myself why not add it to my Plan if VZW atm is offering it for free. I dont have any friends that have PTT

I don't agree w/you that its a "useless" app. I am personally looking forward to it because I think to "Chirp" BB users put BB on the next level although its not a "NEW" technology. It shows that BB is trying to step up their "Cool" apps to compete w/other carriers' "Featured" features...Plus its free(FINALLY) for VZW users as long as the feature gets added to the account prior to June 1st deadline..Then it'll be $5/mth..from storm 2 and on, all bbs will be updating to PTT soon. Nextel has had that feature on Lockdown (Was not free) for years..Now VZW is stepping up and competing. Look at backup assistant for tour and S2s..Little by little, Big Red is trying to Dominate and Compete more...

I agree with you i just need to find ppl with Ptt to even try it with.

As soon as PTT gets a bit more popular, It'll take off just like new Hybrids do..What you need to do is find out your friends who has tours and spread the word (free PTT until June)..I got a few friends w/tours and its a straight app. I am waiting til Storm 2 gets it then I'll be all over that..

The prob is all my friends have other BB's such as 9700 or Curve or S2, No one besides me has the Tour.

You're not alone Bruh..I too own an S2 and most of my peeps own curves and tours..Ptt is making its a way though the BB world..so be patient my friend..
