I am trying to help a good friend out on AT&T on a Bold 9000, I am walking her through updating to OS 5.0.0.411, she has deleted the Vendor file, strted up DM and connected her BB, but its not finding the OS, why would this be?

To be safe have her try this http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/9...tml#post124968
Sometimes the vendor files can be tricky

Is that search the same for Win 7
Cheers
Have a good one ;)
Hey, Theresa here.
Thanks again for posting my issue, I really appreciate it.
This looks like a great forum and as such, I joined. So you'll be seeing me around here more and more as I get acquainted with the site.
I deleted 5.0 from the control panel, rebooted, looked to see if there was anything left to delete manually in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\Shared\Loader Files and there was nothing to delete. All that was there was the folder for my current 4.6.0.304.
I've tried to load from the "manual" App Loader in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\AppLoader with no luck.
I'm still using Google to see if I can find any mention of others that have at&t as a carrier and are having problems installing 5.0.
So far in this search, through a forum post, I found out that at&t has free visual voicemail so I added that to my services. Nice.
Again, thank you Mark for posting and to everyone else I'll be around here checking things out for the next few weeks!

Theresa, Welcome to BBOS !!!
Thank you for the welcome tevansy! I can see I'm going to be spending much time here :D.
Mark - Oh well, we tried. I absolutely appreciate your effort in trying to find a solution to this problem. I think At&t is the cause of the problem. I could name other situations where softwares and functionalities were Hitler-ized by At&t, but it's not even worth speaking of.

Welcome to ::bbos::!!! You still were unable to load a 5.0 OS to your device?
That is correct. I've tried every trick I know, so I think its an at&t thing. The block users from being able to use BB maps because they want you to use their $14.99/mo GPS mapping service. It's things like that, that have me wondering what else they block or disable.
