Thread: About vendor file

I will make a thought on the vendor file.
If I keep a copy of the file vendor from my carrier OS and then download and install newest OS of another carrier.
After that will delete the vendor file of another carrier and put in place the vendor file from my carrier.
Install the OS.
What happens in this case?

It should be nothing different as the vendor files is just something that communicates to loader on if that file matches the phone. It changes nothing in the OS itself

You should be fine... But then again why go though all that? its not needed, just delete it.

Its like an appendix. You dont need it. I remove it out of habit whether even when I am using a build from my carrier.

Indeed, not an important enough file to you to even consider keeping it.

Well what it will happens is that your carrier specific features for the OS will work better, you need to be sure that it is for the same device, just to test click on the vendor file and it will open a text page with some info

If you just reinstall the vendor OS on your PC it will restore the vendor file... i don't know why you would worry about archiving it.
