Being a first time blackberry owner and a former phone modder, I decided to give it a go. Whilst doing an upgrade i fear i may have deleted my vendor.xml file. Is there any way to find out if i have? Or if there would be an official OS that i could download to replace the file?

There should be no problems that will arise from deleting Vendor.xml, in fact, it is common practice when changing OSs to do so. If you need a copy of the file, downloading the same OS from our downloads section should get you a new copy, however, I don't think you'll miss it.
ah ok... but why do you think my programming codes dont work. ive even tried sprint programming codes, and they still dont work. I wanted to update my SID code (since i work at an authorized dealer hehe)
What type of programming are you attempting? I'm pretty sure the vendor.xml file has nothing to do with replacing/upgrading you operating system. If you're trying to delve deeper into the core programming, it may have a separate issue. Vendor.xml mainly deals with OTA upgrades within the carrier network and should not be preventing you from upgrading your operating system. If I can't help you with this issue, I will try to direct you to someone who has more experience than I have, but lets try to get to the root cause first and work from there.
