Homescreen Button for GPS on/off?

So, my best friend just got a Palm Pre. I have very little envy over my Storm2, except he found a "patch" that gives him a button on the home screen to turn on/off GPS, which ends up tripling his battery life!

I'd like to know if "There's an App for that" on my Storm. I've heard of an app that allows you to set the time of day it turns on and shuts off, but also heard it's problematic. I'm just looking for something simple.

Is this really too much to ask? As it stands you have to go into Options, then Advanced Options, then GPS, then toggle to e911 Only. WAY too many steps to turn off or turn back on.

If you find one, please let me know :)

As of now its not on there but I just sent feedback to Quicklaunch and see if it could be added..they hae bluetooth and wifi toggle so I guess we shall see

Would be fab! Please make it happen :)

It can be added through Quicklaunch. I have mine set up for "GPS Config".
