Installing back up data

I'm sure this has been answered before, but I've searched and can't find info on this.

I upgraded to 5.0.0.411 on my Bold 9000 yesterday, and after several failed attempts, achieved success. Before I attempted the upgrade, I backed up my data through DM and also saved my 3rd party apps through BBSAK.

Two questions.

First, if I restore my backup data to my phone with DM, will this restore the original OS (4.6.0.297) or just the data such as my contacts and calendar? All I want to do is restore my phone contacts and all the appointments I have for the calendar.

Second, after restoring 3rd party apps, I found a file in the apps icon that has a ton of files in it, including music, tones, as well as movies. Can I move some of these files such as quickpull and captureit to my homescreen or apps page, and if so, how do I proceed?

If someone's already written a tutorial for this, please link me to it.

The backup via DM will only bring back all your old settings and data if you use the 'backup and restore' screen. The OS will not be touched that way.

When you select one of these apps (only selecting, not opening) there should be the possibility in 'options' to 'move' ...and surely the place can be your homescreen.

Thanks, the back up worked great. I'll be working on restoring some of my apps when my wife isn't looking.

Glad, it worked out - and isn't it always and everywhere the same?! But we cannot live without them...no, meant wife not berry! :)
