Default mSpot Launches Web-Based Mobile Movie Streaming Service

mSpot has launched a new Mobile Movies site where users can buy and stream movies directly to their mobile phones. Movies will be available on 30 different smart phones, including the iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Windows Mobile devices and via all four major U.S. carriers.

To access mSpot Mobile Movies, users can go to mspot.com on their blackberry broswer.

Here is a list of some of the features available:

* use a credit card to rent individual movies for $4.99 each
* subscribe to a monthly membership at $9.99 (for four movies), $12.99 or $15.99 per month.
* based on the movie, rentals could last anywhere from 24 hours to 5 days.
* the movie will launch within the browser and is powered by the phone’s native media player

Great...
It's the mobile version of REDBOX except I don't have to find a location
This should be entertaining to those who find themselves traveling from day to day and need some entertainment to break the monotony.

Thanks Laney

from the mSpot site:

Q: How long do I have to watch each movie?

A: The movie rental period varies by movie, based on what the movie studios allow. The rental time ranges from 24 hours to several days.

What happens if you are traveling and have a poor connection? Seems a little expensive if you ask me. Compared to a service like NetFlix.
