How To: BBM Symbols

Ever wonder how your friends put the Blackberry symbol in their name? Have you seen some crazy fonts out in the Blackberry Messenger World, a.k.a. BBM? Well today is your lucky day, we are going to talk about how these individuals are getting their hands on the "Fun Stuff" and how you can get your hands on the goods also. Many say that these symbols came from some all powerful BB G-d, but I say it was evolution! lol Either way I have them now and its time to show you how to get them on your Blackberry.

If all you want to do is get these symbols into your name, the process is as simple as copy and paste. If you wish to have these symbols on your Blackberry and use that at the click of a button, well that is not so easy and will be in Part #2.



Part #1 Getting Symbols into your BBM Name:

• Copy Symbols Below
• Paste Them Into Email
• Email Symbols To Blackberry
• Copy Symbols From Email
• Paste Symbols Into Your Blackberry Messenger Name

Just like that you are done with Part #1...
Now you want to use those symbols in chat and be able to use them whenever you want. This is not as easy, but its not bad. Using AuoText we will start Part #2.


Part #2 Getting Symbols into your Blackberry's Autotext:

• Copy Symbols Below
• Paste Them Into Email
• Email Symbols To Blackberry
• Copy Symbols From Email
• Head to your AutoText options (Options>AutoText)
• Create a New Auto Text
• Set a 'Replace' Phrase (Make sure not to use real words)
• Paste the symbols into the 'with' line

Just a few extra steps tp this one, but you are now done.

Have you ever noticed that people write messages using these icons but you dont have a clue what they are on about?
My daughter did it with MSN and it peed me of soooo much.
