.148 Simulator now available!
Not sure if its been posted yet... But just wanted to let everyone , especially our theme makers and java programmers that RIM has now released the .148 Simulator for the 9530... Maybe it will help out with the V7 issues, as in we can paste the .151 JAVA files into it. (didnt work before because the platform was still on the .75 build)
Also when u goto the site you'll see they updated it with all previous released OSs and a few BETAs
Heres the Link to the download page!!!

I sent this info over to Brandon Boyer to see if he can get his Crystal Clear themes working with 151 files.
He just mentioned to me that he has downloaded it and is testing it out.
Could be good news, I'll let you know.

The simulator won't have any effects on the actual theme. It's just for testing. Now if it was a 151 simulator then yeah, they could test until they found a solution. But 148 won't help any theme incompatibilities.

Thanks for clarifying Nate
Now if I may ask what is the benefit of this simulator?

It's just helps to see what stuff will look like on the phone. Not a huge benefit to theme builders. More for app developers to run their apps on.
Only benefit I really see is that the color banding shows in the simulator now. So theme builders will know if a gradient is too harsh.

That's funny they actually created the color banding in the simulator. Actually, it's quite said they don't just fix this already.

Well the simulator uses the same OS files so yes, it has the file that causes the color banding in it.

Nate, you can copy the 151 java files into the simulators file folder and it will show the differences... at least it seems to be working with mine... i basically took the V& install and ran it using the simulators folder as the target directory. it will overwrite the java files, so youll have the 148 platform (radio) and the 151 files BBC added. I tried my Blue Goo V2 on the sim and it is showing similar issues as it does on the phone.
