Google Maps Updated to v3.2 - Includes Layers!
Google Maps was updated today for BlackBerry to version 3.2. This is a very nice update to the app as it now includes layers. If you don't know, layers are different types of information you can overlay onto a map such as where your Latitude friends are, Wikipedia information, and transit routes. Having used these layers on my PC, I can tell you that this sort of information on a phone will be very useful. Watch the video above for more information about Layers in Google Maps. The only bad side, and I'm sorry to disappoint, is this version not compatible with the Storm running any 5.0 OS's

not working with touch for Storm
Just wondering if anyone else is having any issues at all with this not working on the storm via touch?
Know there have been issues in the past and work arounds for Google Maps for the Storm.
Just curious. Not sure if it is because running OS 5.0.323 but figured it probably is.
Thanks

This is not compatible with any 5 OS as stated in the original post. We'll just have to patient and wait for our turn.

Lotta threads on this topic, Lol
To clarify, the app will not work WELL with Storms running a 5.0 OS. It will work but not compatible with Touch screen so practically useless imho. Waiting on someone to get a COD for the 4.7 Storm version of 3.2.0 which apparently will work on Storms running 5.0. We'll see!

Does the transit layer only work for certain cities?
I've turned it on and nothing appears in either Victoria BC or Vancouver.
Thanks

I'm not sure. It works in Halifax so I would think it would work in BC too.

How did you get this to work....from previous COD's or just a straight install. I have tried the straight install and it gives me keyboard options, not touch screen options.

It wasn't me who created the OTA link! Someone else did and I was just sharing with the threads I knew had people looking for it. Thanks to the original creator again though for making it easier for everyone to try it out.
