Default JPG Files Being Renamed

When I try to send an email with a JPG file attached from my BB, the file at the recipients end comes in renamed.

As an example, if I send a JPG named 'IMG00001-20100125-1453.jpg', the attachment received by the recipient is 'tf-8_B_SU1HMDAwMDEtMjAxMDAxMjUtMTQ1My5qcGc=_=' and the file extension is '.ATTACHMENT-BLOCKED-OR-RENAMED-2580'.

Not sure what might be causing this. I can send the same file via my computer email client without issue. I can also send other file types, like PNG files, from my BB without issue. it only seems to be JPG files that are affected when sent from my BB.

Can anyone shed on light on what might going on here?

Since I originally posted, I have been sending the same JPG to different email addresses that use different ISP's. It seems to be an issue with one particular ISP (TELUS) that is the problem.

My guess is that ISP is blocking it. Which is not something your BlackBerry is doing. Nor something you can change unfortunately. My guess is the ISP had a really nasty virus spreading to their customers via email and a jpeg attachment.

Makes sense. Oddly enough, even with the rename of the file, it is still a picture file and can be opened with any picture viewer that will open JPG files. Windows just needs to be told which program to use to open this file type.

As a follow up, if I send the same file via my Live account to my TELUS account, there is no problems. It's only when i send from my BB to a TELUS account.
