Default RIM to release BIS 3.0 AND 3.1 with in 6 months?

RIM just opened their doors to BIS 2.8 and already there are plans to release BIS 3.0 and 3.1. BIS 3.0 is expected (rumored) to be released in March of 2010, with 3.1 shortly thereafter. What will these new releases feature?
-BIS 3.0 will improve the G-mail plugin.
-Synchronization deleted messages, read / unread and sent between the box and your own Gmail (so far worked only in the opposite direction). The ability to add and remove labels from your device
-Synchronize Google Calendar. Synchronize your address book from Hotmail account. Synchronize your address book from Yahoo. Yahoo mailbox will cause an automatic download of Yahoo messenger on the device

How do you now what BIS your service provider is using?
Also is there any way to know what service book they are using? Which ones support a 5.0 os?
