I read though that although it has a 1GHz processor, it will not have a separate GPU like the Droid. Who knows though.

That is quite interesting. From the videos posted it really didn't look any faster than the Droid.

And us BlackBerry users know the difference between the BlackBerry hardware vs the iPhone hardware with a GPU.

It's a waiting game but I'd rather have a CPU & a GPU personally.

That is correct but there are only a few known device launches coming so its hard to tell if this will be one of them or not.. at least for about another week. I think they are trying to get them all out by the middle of december.. not droids just phones in general

I dunno. Rumors seem to be centered around Black Friday, but nobody seems sure. I'm just glad that Verizon is starting to get more good phones. I was under the impression that SnapDragon was an SoC, so it has graphics processing built in.
From Qualcomm's website: "High-performance 3D graphics – up to 22M triangles/sec and 133M 3D pixels/sec".

Default Passion release

I've read different sources and it consistently mentions 4th quarter 2009. I have even read that they are going to release the phone before Christmas as their main option kind of like how they released the storm last year. I'm hoping they release some more pictures of this beast soon!

I know. All the same, there wasn't a whole heck of a lot of lag between Droid's official announcement and its release right? I can hope! In any case, it's in VZWs best interest to have something really spectacular for that day in particular. If it's not this, it'd better be something nifty for their sakes! (Not that the Droid doesn't count as nifty...)

I love the OS, but just not liking any of the phones. The physical appearance, just isn't appealing to me. Am i the only one feeling this? If i could port the Android OS to a Storm Body...O man I would happy lol

Modern BlackBerries have a GPU as well, there was no API for accessing the hardware though, until the latest beta SDK came out. Too bad 128MB devices like the Storm1 apparently don't have enough memory to make use of it.

Unrelated question: Is the 1GHz Snapdragon chipset even CDMA capable?
