For me I noticed it takes a few days for the OS to settle in...As far as memory with this one, I am going to watch how it holds up....I can tell you right away: I loaded .148 straight (without shrinking), and with 8 apps, 16 games and 3 themes, booted up at 48mb!!! That's very nice...cause I usually got about 38 with previous ones.

I've tried everything out there, and I always go back to 113.
Since coming to the realization that not all Storms are equal (some are better than others), this OS is super-snappy on my device, but the memory leak is awful. I start out around 35mb free, and in just a few hours I'm down to 20 or less.
I curse Meterberry daily for this... before, I just enjoyed my Storm and never paid attention to any of this stuff LOL

Hopefully you use the latest version of Meterberry. It is not an issue on my device. Go to their website for important info on memory considerations. Using certain features regularly can actually make the situation worse...there's more info there (look for the release notes and possibly an email that the developer issued a few weeks ago. I'd suspect a theme or other app is your issue. Hope you get it worked out. Some of the more recent leaked OS (straight .132 for example) have also proven to be quite stable and well constructed builds.

I was using 132 a couple of days ago, but it was unbearably slow on my device.
My apps are as follows:
FaceBook
MySpace
Flickr
Yatca (for Twitter)
Ascendo Data Vault
Ascendo Money
WikiMobile
IHeartRadio
PodTrapper
Swoosh Sudoku
MeterBerry
BerryWeather
VZ Navigator
FMyLife
And the Google apps, probaby of which.. all of them could go.
GMail
Google Maps
Google Sync
YouTube
No themes.
Any known issues with any of those apps?

WOW!!!!
You've got more than a few of the biggest known memory suckers in that list!
Meterberry is the least of your potential problems.
It's not surprising your device has a little difficulty managing memory. Dump those apps and themes you don't use and be certain you've got the rest fully closed when not in use.
My set up is a bit less demanding and .132 managed the memory beautifully for two weeks sraight, without any issue at all....I terminated the test today to try out .148.

IHeart, Weatherberry, VZNavigator are pretty rouh on memory...others on your list probably fit that description as well (but I have no experience with them).

I'm going to try to use as few 3rd party apps as possible. I hate not using things that I've paid good money for, but at the same time, I hate pulling my battery twice a day also

I've done quite a few upgrades on my wife's phone just to keep her happy due to memory drains and performance issues. I've noticed that that best fix for mem drains on her phone was to add a Theme. I took me a while to find one that she liked. Now she's using the BBPro v3 Red theme. She loves it and memory is stable.

How does adding a theme stabilize memory?
And how does one get a blackberryos.com email address?

I slightly disagree with what Spider said about themes stabilizing memory. The only theme I have found that has no impact on memory is the standard zen theme that comes with the Storm. Themes, while they look great, typically IMHO drain memory. So in my opinion if you want to stabilize memory I would take the opposite approach and get rid of any custom theme on your phone. I have tried virtually everyone out there and some drain less than others so you will have to determine this by trial and error.
Disclaimer Notice: Every storm works differently so what works for may not have any bearing on your results.

Interesting how the change log is full of "enhancements" and not a single defect fix.

I installed 148 on my Storm this evening....
And put 113 back on not even 1 hour later. Every single OS I've tried since 113 has been painfully slow on my device.
But on a good note, I did solve my memory leak problem. Berry Weather was the culprit. I had it set to update weather conditions every 15 minutes and advisories ever 5 minutes. No wonder the OS could never catch up!
I backed both updates off to 30 minutes and ever since, I've been holding steady in the 35-38mb range.
I deleted all the Google apps I never used, as well - but kept everything else.
