Did you just replace the current Java from the one in the rar file then run the installer?
Let us know what you think.

For the first 5 minutes with this, media still loads quick, scrolling is the same, i gained a MB in memory, still looking for something i've never seen, haven't found anything yet.. Don't know how to get it safe mode, JL? Accelerometer is still quick for me, so far in 5 minutes

Check in option and advanced options for safe mode. Boy Genius had a great walk through of 5.0 want to see if I can find it since he chronicled how to use safe mode.
So all in all it's about the same as the previous 5.0 hybrid?

Safe mode probably operates in a similar fashion as it does with XP. Give you just the bare bones.
