moving a bit away from .151 this time...
focusing more on stability and performance...
also... more theme friendly...

Default Fatal error

Tried to install this using app loader but had a fatal error message at the end of the installation.
to enlighten you what i did,
unzip the 1.4
copied the files and paste it in the OS folder in shared forder.
used the apploader to load it.
in the process selected to reinstalled with the older version to install these files.
end up with fatal error message on the wizard.
Phone is working fine but scared to try it again. Can some one tell me if I am doing something wrong.
thank you very much

I would think in the midst of the copy process something might have gotten mixed up...I would suggest doing the following:
1. uninstall all OS from your PC, delete the OS left overs from c, program files, common files, research in motion, shared, loader files....empty recycle bin, restart PC
2. Install the base OS (.148 or .151)
3. Copy over the java into java and cdma into cdma (hybrid to OS)
4. Back phone up and 3rd party apps
5. Do a security wipe on phone: Options/Security Option/General Settings/BB Button/Wipe Handheld
6. Wipe phone with JL or http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/s...ighlight=bbsak
7. Load the OS onto phone (app loader)
8. Restore everything
9. Do 3 60-second battery pulls

thank you very much for the advice. I again tried to install 1.4 before your advice, and found out that the fatal error occurs when backing up on the last step of the apploader wizard. just posting it here if anyone else have the same problem.
I will do the above process later and let you know with the outcome.
I also installed a version 5.0.0.8 of BDM which i have seen in a forum.
Thank you

If you are getting an error while backing up, try clearing your browser cache and then attempt backing up again.

And on 5.0 DM, I have been running it since it leaked without any issues

Hi Gabriel
Can you give an IDOT'S Guide for how to do this please as I just noticed that almost all the removed from list programmes are still on. And also I have only 35MB of free memory.
and also I can not reply to emails, it says "no massage service configured. you will only be able to save to drafts". I can receive emails without a problem.
I can send and reply to texts no problems.
Thank you
thanks

You might want to try and download BB File Scout and try to copy them that way. Here is a link http://www.emacberry.com/ota/BBFileScout.jad

With BB File Scout you can also delete OEM wallpapers/videos/music and etc.

will do. but I have other problems and thinking going back to version 1.3.
the problems I've got now are
1. I can not reply to emails, it says "no massage service configured. you will only be able to save to drafts". I can receive emails without a problem.
I can send and reply to texts no problems.
2. tried to delete and reconfigure one of my email accounts, manage to delete it but i can not add an email account as the "add" button does not respond. I can press it, it goes to blue when pressing but nothing happens afterward.
are these problems due to version 1.4?
Can someone confirm they got he same problems if they have.
Cheers
