Thread: help transferring to new desktop computer, tour has 5.0.0.191

I recently upgraded my bb tour os to 5.0.0.191 and am very happy with that, I am currently using dm 5.0.0.11 downloaded from RIM. I will be getting a new desktop computer in the next few days. How do I transfer from the old computer to the new one? If I download dm 5.0.0.11 again (the disc that came w/ my bb was not readable), will it recognize my tour with the leaked .191 or will I have to downgrade to 4.7 before the transfer and then reinstall .191 later. I am a newbie to bb and am not very tech saavy...so I apologize if this is a silly question, but I am worried about transitioning to the new computer and losing the content on my existing bb.

Are you syncing any of your data?

You can simply download DM from BlackBerry.com and install it on your computer. It should work with your Tour running .191 just fine.

Thanks, all my info is synced. I was just concerned that since .191 is a leak and not official, it would not be recognized when I download dm.

Yeah it should work. I've never synced my info so I can't speak a whole lot about it.
