Thread: DM Outlook Sync Error

Couldn't find this anywhere else and have searched the web for any answers that might help with no luck. Hoping someone in the forums has run into this issue in the past. This problem has just occurred recently and worked just fine prior to a few days ago.

When I try to sync tasks, contacts or calendar I get the following error message.

I am running Windows 7 v 7201, Office Outlook 2010 TP, DM 5.0.0.11 and BBC v8.5

You may want to try clearing your cache on your BB and also on your computer.

This happens when you plug your phone in to sync? Or does it happen when you are trying to set up sync?

Have you tried the basic reboot computer and battery pull?

This is occurring when trying to set up sync. Have tried multiple battery pulls and computer reboots without success.

Did some Google searching and came up with an article that may work for you. Let me know if this works or not.

I had previously tried this but I will try it again and see if it works and will update you shortly.

UPDATE

Tried this and no go. Same error message.

Have you tried resetting the sync configuration?

Have tried that as well with no results.

I saw somebody suggest deleting and recreating the outlook profile.

Can you think of anything that has changed, on either your phone or computer that would coincide with when this problem started occurring?

On my BB i have changed hybrids. Haven't changed any of my software on my BB.
On my computer I installed Windows Movie Maker. I'll see if there was some addon that might have contributed to the problem.

Yeah something could have happened between those two events. If you have a back up of your phone, I would try doing a handheld wipe. just clearing all the third party apps off. And also get rid of personal data. Just to make sure.

I'll give that a try and report back.

No go. Have tried all of the suggested fixes and nothing is working. May simply be a matter of 2010 not playing nice with DM. Originally i just did an upgrade of Outlook from 2007 to 2010. It may be a case of when I reinstalled DM it lost it's way as far as syncing is concerned. I'll try downgrading back to 2007 and see if this fixes the issue.

before you do that i have a suggestion but I need one answer first... what all are you trying to sync?

I'm not on a BES so I am trying to sync my contacts, appointments and tasks with Outlook.

have you tried google sync? I have found it to be far easier, and less frustrating. For me has worked perfect on every os.

Uninstall your current DM and all loaded OS's , then uninstall 2010. Reboot the computer. Install a program named Ccleaner from Priform,its free and compatible with Windows 2007, run it and clean up the registery entrys and old temp files. Reinstall a fresh DM from Blackberry, along with a new install of the USB drivers. Then reinstall a fresh copy of 151. Reboot again then install Outlook 2007..
Now re-establish your connection and sync with outlook. Once you have the system operational, load the 8.5 hybrid and sync again. Should all go well to this point ,backup up your Outlook to a .pst file, then load 2010 and hope for the best. If 2010 syncs your in business, if it doesnt you still have a fully functional BB and contacts. Just name a restore point for Windows 7 to roll back too should you need it prior to the 2010 Outlook install.
