Thread: Uninstall Desktop Manager

Greetings,

I run Vista Home OS on my desktop.
When DM 5.0 showed up I waited a bit before trying to upgrade from DM 4.7.
When I was finally able to slow down and try the upgrade, all hell broke loose.
I thought it was a good idea to uninstall DM 4.7 before installing DM 5.0.
DM 4.7 would not uninstall. I think it showed an error with a regist key. At this point I installed DM 5.0, but it also bit the dust with a regist key error.
I gave up, and the leaked os, as well as hybrids' installs continued to load, backups continued to work, so I just didn't mess with it till the v8 would not load. I tried the uninstall stuff again with same results as before. At this point I had a screwed up DM that wouldn't load my storm with anything. I restored my desktop back to the day before, and I was able to load back the
v4.7.0.151 os as the phone was before I tried to load v8.





I still show both 4.7 and 5.0 on my system, so at this point I am at a loss of how to deal with it.


I think I could cure my problem if i were able to uninstall DM 4.7 and get DM 5.0 to install without the key error abort crap. So I assume I should delete all my Storm leaked os' , delete all the DM directories, run a registery cleaner, and cross my fingers for good luck at a fresh DM 5.0 install.

Have you tried to force load it with exe apploader?

Sunkast thanks for the suggestion. With luck this weekend, I will have time to work on this issue. I have a lot of faith in Reg cleaner, it has come thru for me in the past.

Jasonfyc I always use the apploader.exe method, this time when trying to load v8, it only showed 2 items to install, bbm and that hex game.. told me not enough substance to carry on with the install.

I appreciate the help. Not enough hours in the day with 2 jobs to make headway on this problem I'm having.

I use Revo Uninstaller and it uninstalls and cleans reg at same time....was a suggestion from a good friend and it works

Thanks for the suggestion. I finally got the time this weekend to uninstall both DM 4.7 and 5.0 but nowI can't get 5.0 to install. I still get the same song and dance about access to that fricking key. I'm digging one hell of a hole over here. think i'll go to bed and sleep on it for awhile.

This morning.. rather late this morning.. heavy sleeper. I googled this 1402 error and did a little reading. I like taking shortcuts when the long method looks hopeless.

I created another user account on my vista os and gave this username admin rights. I then downloaded and re installed BB DM 5.0 with not problems.
