Thread: Desktop Manager updated to 5.0.0.11

Ready for another update?
Yup that's right, Desktop Manager was just recently updated to 5.0.0.11
from the 5.0.0.8 that had released with the BlackBerry Tour.
This is an update you receive through your Desktop Manager software.
This update has provided many new options.
From being able to back up around errored databases
and also lets you know what database had not been backed up,
lots of goodies! Very nice upgrade, so make sure YOU check it out!

im honestly surprised they didnt include slacker radio cache update into the media section however i expect we may see it in a later verizon release

Do you guys find it worthwhile to update to each new version? To me I just don't feel like it doesn't have anything new to offer, being that I have a device with OS 4.5.

I think it's more the strive to have the latest. The difference if there is any is not much. I did find the first 5.0 to be released to be much faster than the 4.X version. But the difference between the last two is rather insigifnicant.

I just don't use DM enough to care if I have the latest or not.

True, I am still using DM 4.5 lol, I always found that one to be extremely stable.

I think DM is slow in general...I only use it for back ups/restores....otherwise it loader for me

Oh good I'm not alone then. I feel some what left out since all I have is an 8320.

If there is a higher OS available for your device, from a different carrier and you have it installed to PC, don't forget to delete vendor.xml...that's the most common culprit that prevents updates from showing up

ok, also i just did a wipe on my storm, and the thing has been frozen on the do not pull your batt screen, the clock is frozen what do i do, i think i just bricked the thing

How long has it been frozen?

I'd wait at least 30 to 60 minutes. You have nothing to lose by waiting if it comes back.
