Thread: BlackBerry Desktop Manager v7.0 B44 Officially Available

After a good six months in Beta Zone, BlackBerry Desktop Manager v7.0 has officially released today.

We are currently not seeing any changelog, but we've heard that it does improve syncing capabilities. I've personally used the version found it Beta Zone since August & i've noticed that a full backup of my 9900 takes half the time it would take on Desktop Manager v6.0

I was using DM version 7.0.0.32 before, and even though it was good, I'm glad RIM has released this official build of Desktop Manager 7 aka Desktop Software version 7.0.0.43

Hello kryptoBB,

What I do when I update most applications, especially this one, is to completely uninstall any previous version of Desktop Manager (which can be done by going into Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features, look for BlackBerry Desktop Software).

Reboot the computer, install this official DM 7 version (and make sure it has completely downloaded) before installing.

I just tried, uninstalled, fresh install, same error, reading on google it talks about root certificates missing , any idea what that is, um really getting frustrated!

I tried to update via Desktop Manager on my PC. It offered the update and downloaded the new version. It appeared to install OK and then closed the earlier version. Then I see a box that tells me that Desktop Manager requires that MS Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package is insalled. When I click OK expecting that to happen it closes then nada! My PC is Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium with auto update set to on.

I'm downloading now. Let's see what happens.

What you need to do is delete the older version first, reboot your computer, then download the new version. Then reboot your computer again, assuring a good download.

I went to the MS site and downloaded and installed the Visual C++ stuff it wanted and then DM installed fine.

Hello kryptoBB you need to post back a screen shot of the issue you're experiencing, which will further help us narrow down the problem, and come up with a solution that will work.

I Goggled as many keywords back and forth to come up with an answer as close as possible to the issue you're experiencing kryptoBB, but without that screen shot, I'm afraid I won't be able to give you an answer till then.

I really don't want to go back and forth on this issue, and I'm sure neither do you, so the sooner you post a screen shot or two, I will reply back as soon as possible.

Ps- in the meantime, you might want to install these programs, they are very helpful for many programs to run as smooth as possible.

installed all 3 above, restarted pc, and i stil get that same error as shown by image above.

I'm facing with the same issue too since version 6. I was able to install it under Win7 but no luck on XP. So weird. I thought version 7 came up to fix this kind of issue but it is same as previous... Getting same error upon setup. No luck yet n so frustrated...

I really hope they rework the DM for BB10 from the ground up. I absolutely hate it. I can't back up my phone on it. Every time I try it gets stuck in the smart card options... It's made OS updates such a pain

Software requirements

• Microsoft® Windows® XP SP2 or later, Windows Vista™, Windows 7
• Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 or an active Internet connection

You say you're having problems installing on XP, as you can see above, software requirements XP SP2 or later.

You need to configure proper location of folder to sync MS Outlook, with DM 7.

Take a look at DM 7 system requirements.

BlackBerry Desktop Software System Requirements

Have you completely removed any previous version of Desktop Manager?

Can you please delete your current file, and reattempt to download Desktop Manager 7 again.

Something is definitely not right here, if you have already done all of these suggestions.
