    Both can be deleted now :haha: the missing piece was blackberry 9000.msi for .554 (the last OS I had installed)
    Maybe it got deleted by accident by the Anti-Virus...

    So just install the 554 again... wait until it extracts blackberry 9000.msi and failed to locate it. Use the windows search function for blackberry 9000.msi (search for hidden files too)..

    Couldn't find it without your help Pascal :laugh2:

    Incase anyone else is experiencing this issue, you don't need to go through all those steps, there is only ony thing you need to do. The issue was always the device OS installer that you used to update the device OS. Downloading the device OS installation file from RIM for your particular carrier via http :// and installing it, will allow you to install, remove, and/or open the Desktop manager. This app is where the missing MSI's are stored.
