From the BlackBerry World 2011 conference, David Heit, Director of Software Product Strategy, discusses BlackBerry Bridge, which is an app that allows the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet to access existing BlackBerry smartphone applications including secure browsing, access to corporate email, and many other enterprise uses. BlackBerry Bridge can be used with both BlackBerry Internet Service and BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

Bridge has been a feature that has drawn criticism from non-Berry users, as native email and BBM can only be accessed if you have a BlackBerry device. Although, RIM hopes to quell this criticism with a no strings attached update that will allow for the PlayBook to become a independent device, free of the smartphone. This will surely draw in more consumers that don't have a BlackBerry. What is your favorite feature of BlackBerry Bridge? How would you use it? Let us know in the comments!
