Great news, folks. That BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha update that has been "coming soon" for some time now, is set to be released next week! I for one am looking forward to more API access and features with the update. However, we shouldn't expect too much, as it is after all, a developer device. WayneLee from the Beta Zone blog has revealed this bit of information to us:
The good news is that the new Desktop Software 7.1 build should be ready anytime now and developers have implemented fixtures to the software loading on your Alpha devices.
The bad news is the new Alpha build for your devices won't be ready till next week (it is handled by another team) so in the meantime it will still say "no updates available".
With the latest Desktop Software update, some Dev Alpha owners have claimed to have been able to at least re-load their current OS on the device. This is done to alleviate some of the issues many have had with the device bricking after a security wipe.
