Rob Orr has left his role as Managing Director of BlackBerry UK with immediate effect according to Mobile News.
No details are given about the sudden departure, however BlackBerry did have this to say in a statement to the mobile news site:
“Rob Orr has resigned as managing director of BlackBerry UK and Ireland with immediate effect. We thank Rob for his contributions and wish him well for the future.”
Rob Orr had worked at BlackBerry for seven years. Since joining in June 2006 as director of carrier product management he has also served as vice president of EMEA.
He took the lead role at BlackBerry UK in August 2012 after Stephen Bates became the regional MD for Europe.
It's a surprising time as Orr has seen the world-premiere launches of both BlackBerry 10 phones, the Z10 and Q10.
The BBOS team wish him the best in future endeavours.
