Judge Orrick has agreed to BlackBerry's claim and has let the motion for contempt of court proceedings to continue. His Honor agreed that BlackBerry has shown that Typo had been selling keyboards in violation of the court order.

“I am very concerned with what appears to be deliberate contempt of the preliminary injunction by Typo,” wrote Orrick, pointing out that the company shipped around 15,000 keyboards despite the ban. The judge imposed the ban in April after finding that the Typo design likely violated three of BlackBerry’s patents.

It seems that the makers of the Typo Keyboard believe that they are above the law. So much so in fact that they're continued to sell the BlackBerry knock off keyboard even after a court injunction ruled they need to stop. Typo, backed by Ryan Seacrest, have sold 11,000 of the iPhone accessory keyboard since the injunction was put in place by US District Judge William Orrick.

BlackBerry has gone to the court again asking for another court injunction to stop the sale, calling Typo's actions, "brazen and blatant." It is a little foggy whether the new request applies to the new Typo 2 keyboard but the BlackBerry request does include a mention to an online store that has the Typo 2 on pre-order.

We will keep you informed of the progress of BlackBerry's request and what Judge Orrick's decision will be.
