Last night, I had the opportunity to see Alicia Keys bring a New Day in Toronto as part of her Set The World On Fire Tour. BlackBerry invited a select few fans to enjoy this concert while interacting with some of BlackBerry's finest people. Immediately upon arrival at Air Canada Center, we were greeted by individuals in BlackBerry attire who escorted us to the Hospitality Suite, were we had to opportunity to enjoy hors d'oeuvres while discussing our craziness for the BlackBerry Z10. The room was secluded from the arena floor, so there was no disturbance from the opening act while we talked about how exciting late April will be, once Q10 is finally in the market!
Prior to being escorted down to our seats for Alicia Keys set we had a few surprise visitors come visit us: Frank Boulben (Chief Marketing Officer), Andrew MacLeod (Managing Director for BlackBerry Canada), and even Thorsten Heins himself!
Alicia Keys didn't hide any love for her White BlackBerry Z10 during it's brief appearance on stage, but that was the only mention or reference to BlackBerry throughout the whole set (with exception of Keep Moving video). I was a bit disappointed to not be seeing more brand awareness from BlackBerry's Creative Director, but we can only hope things will get better with time.
