• Thorsten Heins Nominated As One Of The TSX Tech Exec Of The Year Finalists

No doubt, Thorsten Heins has taken a beating from the media. No one thought that for the first 10 months of his taking on the CEO position that he could come away with a successful turnaround of BlackBerry. He has persevered through delays, criticisms, layoffs and total company restructure. With only little over a month away from the BlackBerry 10 launch, it looks like Thorsten is on his way to win the battle.

Cormark analyst Richard Tse says RIM's platform transition remains an uphill battle, but RIM’s "surprising operational progress" has given it wiggle room between BlackBerry 7 and BlackBerry 10 that many critics didn't think the company could spare.

Thorsten will be up against Michael Donovan and Michael Roach for the Cantech Letter 2012 TSX Tech Executive of the Year award. Head on over to the Cantech website to put in your vote to support our fearless BlackBerry leader, Thorsten Heins!
