Say it ain't so Thorsten....say it ain't so!!! Ok, let's get a grip here. Yes, it's true. RIM CEO Thorsten Heins uses a Android phone
. A Samsung Galaxy S III to be precise. And really, why shouldn't he? He needs to keep in touch with the competition and what they're doing. Innovation comes from all areas and keeping tabs on what your competition is doing with their products is a necessity. Thorsten also said in an interview with CIO.com
that he has used an iPhone in the past.
Really, this is nothing earth shattering. Even Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak admits to have used a BlackBerry in the past. All in all, using the competition's phones surely does make sense.
Also, Thorsten, in the same interview said that RIM will deliver a "one-two-punch" with the introduction of the new BlackBerry 10
touch and QWERTY keyboard models will be one after the other in succession. So those that said that RIM was abandoning the physical keyboard will be very disappointed to learn that the BlackBerry 10 will indeed be getting a QWERTY. This is good news for those BlackBerry users who love typing on a physical keyboard. I'm going to be torn in which one to get. I'll probably wind up getting both.
