The BlackBerry Priv is less than a day away from being available in carrier retail stores worldwide. With AT&T having exclusive rights in United States at launch for the Android-powered smartphone, many have wondered if/when Sprint, Verizon or T-Mobile will be offering the device. With conflicting reports on social media stating that T-Mobile has no intention of offering the Priv, we've reached out directly to T-Mobile to clarify their official stance on this matter.
According to T-Mobile spokesperson:
The Priv is not available at T-Mobile at this time, however we do partner closely with all OEM’s, including BlackBerry, to continually evaluate and adjust our portfolio. While we don’t have news to share at this time, we’ve always been a supporter of the ‘bring your own device’ concept and welcome anyone who purchases the unlocked device for use on T-Mobile’s network
While this is no confirmation of device coming to their network, T-Mobile has not denied the possibility of the Priv being added to their lineup at some point in the foreseeable future. At the very least, you can purchase an unlocked BlackBerry Priv from ShopBlackBerry and use it on T-Mobile for the time being.
