• Seesmic Drops Support for BlackBerry

    Seesmic, a some-what popular social networking app, has issued the following statement:

    Blackberry users, we have important news we would like to share:

    Effective June 30th, Seesmic will discontinue support for Blackberry in order to focus development efforts on our most popular mobile platforms: Android, iOS and Windows Phone 7.

    We encourage those effected by this change to try out Seesmic for Android, iOS and Windows Phone 7, as well as and Web.

    For those of you unfamiliar with Seesmic, it is an app that attempts to merge multiple Facebook and Twitter accounts for its users. The Seesmic for BlackBerry app though fell incredibly short of that. The app hardly ever got updates, was overall very buggy and it just seemed like it was designed in a overall lazy fashion. Most BlackBerry users have never even heard of Seesmic so this news comes as no surprise. The slap in the face for all BlackBerry users that read this is the fact that the Seesmic Team is actually suggesting that the Windows Phone 7 is a more popular platform than ours. Really though?

    Either way, the current Seesmic for BlackBerry will continue to function until Twitter or Facebook make some major change like their log-in authentication; etc.
