• Rumor: Native BBM Coming To PlayBook Next Month With Integrated BBM Voice And Video Chat

One of my biggest gripes with RIM over the past two years is how incomplete the PlayBook still feels without BBM. Yes, I know we can bridge our BlackBerry smartphones to it and BBM to our hearts content, but at this juncture, it really should have BBM natively. True, RIM has been putting all its focus on BlackBerry 10, so that's why I can understand leaving the PlayBook behind for now.

We've also known for quite a while that BlackBerry 10 will be coming to the PlayBook some time after it launches on January 30th, and a native BBM app is definitely on its way as well.
BBOTA.cn has gotten ahold of this sweet screenshot which, according to them, depicts the native BBM app and how it currently looks on the PlayBook. Details are a little rough, but BBOTA.cn believes we will be getting a BlackBerry 10 update next month which would include BBM. The native BBM update would allow BBM Video Chat and BBM Voice to work on the PlayBook as well. Pretty nifty stuff that hopefully comes to fruition.

Now, the BlackBerry 10 launch isn't 'til the end of next month, so it is possible this could be another surprise that RIM has in store for its BlackBerry faithful on January 30th. Only 38 days left to find out!
