Research In Motion (RIM) is being sued by Wi-Lan over alleged infringement of Wi-Lan's Bluetooth patent number 6,260,168. Wi-Lan has files multiple patent infringement lawsuits, including one last week against Apple. Other companies sued by Wi-Lan are HTC and Sierra Wireless, Inc.
Recently, Wi-Lan lost a suit against LG in a U.S. Court ruling which sent Wi-Lan's stock down sharply. Wi-Lan has previously sued RIM over "frequency sharing" and "A device for composing or editing a string of characters."
Wi-Lan is seeking injunctions against the models Torch, Storm, Bold, Pearl and PlayBook as well as monetary damages. Hopefully Wi-Lan, who seems to make a habit of suing for patent infringement will lose this suit as well.
