  • RIM Opens BlackBerry Apps Lab At The University Of Pretoria

Today RIM announced the opening of the BlackBerry apps lab at the University of Pretoria in Pretoria South Africa. The University of Pretoria is a BlackBerry Authorized Academic Center, and has partnered with RIM to "accelerate mobile application development in South Africa". The lab will provide developers, students, and others the ability to tap into RIM's rich resources in, development, marketing, sales, and business opportunities.

This is a smart move my RIM as it allows for more exposure in one of their prime market areas. In addition it does promote a healthy educational, and economic boost as well. RIM has been working with over 40 educational institutions across Africa with their BlackBerry Academic Program.
