• RIM invests $1.4 billion on R&D in 2010

A few weeks ago, Research Infosource Inc (Canada’s source of Research and Development intelligence) released public information on the Top 100 Corporate R&D Spenders for the fiscal year of 2010.

It came as a surprise to several people that RIM was #1 on that list with $1.4 billion invested in Research & Development. Many claim that most of this amount comes from their development of OS 6, PlayBook & OS 7, but I think otherwise.

With almost twice the R&D Spending as #2 (Bell Canada), I certainly don't see why a significant portion of this amount wouldn't be for the development of BBX.

If BBX is actually what it claims to be, & it will leapfrog the competition, could BBX in reality be a project that's several years in the making?
