• RIM Introduces India's First BlackBerry Themed Cafe

The Sky Park Cafe was introduced as India's first BlackBerry themed cafe recently and it is truly a tribute to BlackBerry. The cafe in Hyderabad, India is equipped with BlackBerry PlayBooks, lots of NFC Tags and a BlackBerry Music Gateway. How the Sky Cafe uses BlackBerry technology is unique and interesting.

BlackBerry PlayBooks are to be used as menus as well as entertainment and business functions. The BlackBerry Music Gateway will be paired with a dedicated BlackBerry PlayBook to solely function as a jukebox for the cafe patrons. In addition, a wall of NFC tags will allow cafe customers to check in to the venue on such social apps like Foursquare as well as allowing downloads of the app of the month.

Would a cafe of this unique type make it here in the US? Difficult to say but probably not in the current environment However, I do believe that this is a good step to evangelize the BlackBerry brand in a booming smartphone market such as India. This is a genius idea and hopefully there will be more opened up all around the world soon as BlackBerry 10 starts to take hold in the smartphone user market.

The Q5 is not planned for a North American release (Mexico might).

The battery life on the Q5 should be stellar. Same size battery as Q10
