• RIM Headquarters, Waterloo, To Be Decorated Ahead Of BlackBerry 10 Launch

It's no surprise to hear that the hometown of Research In Motion, Waterloo, Ont. is going to be decorated up prior to the BlackBerry 10 launch. The Huffington Post reports that, "RIM plans to hold skating parties at community rinks, as well as decorate light poles in areas of Waterloo and neighboring Kitchener with banners to promote BlackBerry and thank the community for its' support."

There was even a exception made to the rule of corporate advertising on city property. Local council of Kitchener gave RIM the go-ahead in a unanimous vote earlier this week.

The BlackBerry themed ice-skating parks will offer free skating to the public, in which RIM will supply complimentary hot coco and BlackBerry branded cookies.

"It's just a small way of saying thank you for sticking behind us and being there during the transition period," said Morgan Elliott, director of government relations, in an interview.

If any of you Waterloo/Kitchener locals get to attend, be sure to let us know how the decorations and events went!
