RIM was always known for going all out in any event they hosted. It seems that BlackBerry has picked up right where the old RIM left off. Last night, they hosted the official U.S. BlackBerry 10 launch party at the Best Buy Theater in the heart of Times Square, New York. We were lucky enough to be there, and we had a blast!
Outside of the event, BlackBerry had the BB10 demo truck parked showing off the new Z10 to everyone that walked by. The truck was completely decked out in everything BlackBerry. I mean, even the hubcaps were BlackBerry logos.
Inside the venue, the food and the drinks were flowing. This little creative drink, called the BlackBerry Fizz, was extremely popular last night. It was a mix of a few different things, top of with blackberries (its weird to actually spell out the fruit), and it was delicious.
First out on the Best Buy Theater stage was BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins. He talked only for a few moments, but you could tell he was definitely getting the troops ready. He finalized by saying, "go out there, and sell like hell!" That was probably one of my favorite moments of the whole night.
After Thor, followed some amazing musical acts. Janelle Monae, Young the Giant, and DJ ZTrip lit up the stage with some incredible energy that definitely had everyone going. There were a couple of surprise appearances as well scheduled for the night.
DJ ZTrip brought out some special guests, the legendary Roots' drummer, Quest Love, who did his thing on stage, followed by none other than the man, Ludacris! To say the crowd loved the talent that BlackBerry put together for this event would be a huge understatement.
What an awesome way to bring BlackBerry 10 to U.S.! Check out more pics from last night below!
