Our friends over at N4BB have gotten their hands on a couple of sweet screenshots which would seem to point to RIM starting to push notifications to BBM. With the increase in BBM connected/integrated apps that are either out or on their way out, it's no surprise that RIM would want to jump on this as well. RIM could essentially push notifications/alerts to their 50 million customers worldwide through BBM.
There are definitely pros and cons to this, as with anything. While RIM could use this new feature to push notifications about new features, outages, like the ones from last week and prevent the spreading of mass broadcast messages about the issue, etc; they could also push ads and different marketing campaigns to their users in a more direct way. As you can imagine, this could potentially get annoying.
